About ComSuperComSuper is the business name of the Commonwealth Superannuation Administration. It is an Australian Government agency responsible for the administration of the principal occupational superannuation schemes for the Australian Government's public sector and Defence Force employees. These schemes are among the largest in Australia. They have a combined membership of over half a million contributors, pensioners, and preserved benefit members. ComSuper administers these schemes under delegated authority from the Boards of Trustees and the DFRDB Authority. The Boards and the Authority retain their principal powers for investment management, invalidity assessment and reconsideration of decisions made by ComSuper. The Commissioner for Superannuation is the Chief Executive Officer of ComSuper. Details of financial statements and statistical information can be obtained from the Annual Reports to Parliament. Policy matters relating to the provision of superannuation benefits to public sector members are the province of the Minister for Finance and Administration and his department. Policy matters relating to the provision of superannuation benefits to Defence Force members are the province of the Minister Assisting the Minister for Defence, the Veterans' Affairs Minister and the Department of Defence.
