Reader’s Guide

The Commissioner for Superannuation Annual Report 2007-08 has been prepared in accordance with the Requirements for Annual Reports, as approved by the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit. This report is presented in four chapters with appendices and index, as outlined below, reporting against our Portfolio Budget Statement and aligning with our main business planning documents.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This chapter provides our Chief Executive Officer's review of the year and a report from our Chief Financial Officer.

COMSUPER OVERVIEW

This chapter describes the nature of our business, what we do and our relationships with other parties responsible for public sector superannuation.

REPORT ON PERFORMANCE

This chapter summarises our performance for the year against our Portfolio Budget Statement. The four sections of the Report on Performance reflect the key themes that drive ComSuper's business, as follows:

• Building loyalty through excellence, which describes our approach to service delivery and provides key performance information for the year
• Improving our internal processes, which describes our corporate governance arrangements and reports on other internal management processes
• Further enhancing the capability of our people, which reports on our management of human resources
• Improving our financial performance, which discusses our financial performance for the year.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

This chapter contains our audited financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2008.

APPENDICES

The report includes 13 appendices, which contain information required under specific legislation and other reporting requirements.

GLOSSARY, COMPLIANCE INDEX and INDEX

A glossary of terms and acronyms, compliance index-for ease of locating mandatory requirements for annual reports-and an index, have been included to enhance the useability of the report.
